9800X3D + RTX 5070 Ti Build: 1440p High Settings with Ray Tracing

September 26, 2026

Quick answer: A 9800X3D + RTX 5070 Ti build like this suits someone who wants a compact 1440p gaming PC for demanding AAA games and specifically cares about NVIDIA features such as ray tracing and DLSS. If you mainly play lighter games such as Roblox or Minecraft, this build may be more than you need.

Who this PC is for

1440p gamer who prioritises visual quality and RTX features. This build suits someone who regularly plays demanding AAA games and is willing to spend more on the CPU and GPU because gaming performance and visual features are a priority. It also suits someone who wants this level of hardware inside a smaller mATX system instead of a larger tower. If most of your games are lighter titles, or ray tracing and DLSS are not important to you, a cheaper configuration may make more sense.

Is the RTX 5070 Ti worth choosing if ray tracing matters to me?

The RTX 5070 Ti makes more sense if ray tracing and DLSS are features you actually plan to use in demanding games. If you normally turn ray tracing off, or most of your games are lighter titles, you may not get as much value from choosing a build specifically around those features.

So the decision is less about whether the RTX 5070 Ti can run your games, and more about whether better visual features in demanding games are worth paying more for to you.

Do I actually need a Ryzen 7 9800X3D for the games I play?

The Ryzen 7 9800X3D makes more sense for someone building around demanding gaming rather than mainly lighter titles. If most of your time is spent on Roblox, Minecraft or similarly lighter games, this CPU may be more than you need. A cheaper CPU configuration could still give you a very good experience.

If your game library also includes demanding AAA titles and you are intentionally building a higher-end 1440p system, then spending more on the CPU becomes easier to justify.

Is the smaller Tecware Titan M the right case for me?

The Tecware Titan M keeps this build in a smaller mATX format while still fitting the RTX 5070 Ti, Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 360 mm AIO, motherboard, power supply and four case fans used in this completed PC.

A smaller case makes sense if desk space or the overall size of the PC matters to you. The trade-off is that future components still need to be checked for physical clearance. If you prefer having more internal room for future changes, a larger case may be easier to work with.

FAQ

Questions Buyers Ask

Can I upgrade the GPU later if a faster card comes out?
Yes. The GPU can be upgraded later, but compatibility will depend on the size, power requirements and power connectors of the new graphics card. This build currently uses an ASUS TUF EVO 850 W 80+ Gold power supply and the Tecware Titan M case, so those specifications should be checked against the requirements of any future GPU before upgrading.
