PERFORMANCE
At native 4K without upscaling, the RTX 5090 32 GB delivers excellent raster gaming performance in demanding modern titles. GamersNexus recorded 95 FPS average in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty at 4K Ultra with no ray tracing and no upscaling, a 50% lift over the RTX 4090's 64 FPS average in the same test.
Across its full 4K Ultra rasterization suite, Tom's Hardware found the RTX 5090 25% faster than the RTX 4090, with individual games ranging from 6% to 43% ahead. In Black Myth: Wukong with full ray tracing at 4K using quality mode upscaling, Tom's Hardware recorded 62 FPS on the RTX 5090 versus 48 FPS on the RTX 4090. With DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation enabled in supported games, displayed frame rates can go much higher, but base rendered FPS and input latency still determine how responsive the game feels.
The Ryzen 7 9800X3D's 3D V-Cache helps keep frame delivery consistent in CPU-sensitive games. In lighter esports titles and simulation-style games, the 9800X3D's 96 MB of stacked L3 cache can help reduce frame-time spikes at this GPU tier. The 64 GB of DDR5 6000 MHz RAM also gives the build room for content creation and video editing alongside gaming without requiring a memory upgrade.
