SilverStone RM400 4U Rackmount Server Chassis

SilverStone RM400 is a 4U rackmount chassis for business servers, workstations and storage-focused systems. It supports SSI-CEB and ATX motherboards, three external 5.25" bays, eight internal 3.5" drive positions and seven standard-profile PCI/PCIe expansion slots.

Who it suits

• Server builders get seven standard-profile PCI/PCIe expansion slots, with card lengths up to 339mm when the 3.5" drive cage contains no drives.
• Storage-focused systems benefit from eight internal 3.5" drive positions, additional 2.5" mounting positions and three external 5.25" bays.
• Builders can use compatible ATX PS2 or Mini Redundant power supplies, with 2U Redundant PSU support on RM400 V2.0 or later.
• Not suitable for hot-swap NAS builds requiring an integrated backplane, E-ATX motherboards or SSI-EEB motherboards.

Before you buy

• Check motherboard compatibility before ordering. The RM400 supports CEB, ATX, Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX boards, but not E-ATX or SSI-EEB.
• CPU cooler clearance is 130mm with the expansion-card retainer installed, increasing to 148mm without it.
• Expansion cards can be up to 220mm long with drives in the 3.5" cage, or 339mm when the cage is empty.

Can I use full-height graphics cards in the RM400?

Yes. The RM400 supports seven standard-profile PCI/PCIe expansion slots. Compatible graphics cards can be up to 220mm long with drives installed in the 3.5" cage, or up to 339mm long when the cage contains no drives. Check the card's height, thickness, and cooling clearance before purchasing.

What PSU options work with the RM400?

The RM400 supports compatible ATX PS2 and Mini Redundant power supplies. A 2U Redundant PSU is supported on RM400 V2.0 or later. SilverStone publishes conflicting PSU depth limits of 160mm and 200mm, so please contact Mansa Computers to confirm clearance for your selected PSU and chassis revision before ordering.

How many fans are included?

Two fans are included: 1 x 120mm front fan and 1 x 80mm rear fan. You can add 1 more 80mm front fan and 1 more 80mm rear fan for better cooling.
