SilverStone RM51 5U Rackmount Server Chassis

The SilverStone RM51 is a 5U rackmount chassis for GPU servers and high-end home systems. It supports SSI-EEB motherboards, CPU coolers up to 181mm with the expansion card retainer or 192mm without, and includes two 180mm Air Penetrator 184i PRO fans.

Who it suits

• Air-cooling enthusiasts get 181mm CPU cooler clearance with the expansion card retainer installed, or 192mm without it.
• GPU server builders get eight expansion slots and up to 455mm card length without front fans or radiators. Card width is limited to 157mm with the retainer, 198mm without.
• Home lab users can position the chassis vertically or horizontally, with an optional secondary SFX PSU replacing the 3.5" drive cage.
• Less suitable for high-density storage servers requiring hot-swap bays. The RM51 offers internal drive mounting but no built-in hot-swap bays.

Before you buy

• CPU cooler height is limited to 181mm with the expansion card retainer installed, or 192mm without it.
• Primary PSU length is limited to 160–190mm depending on configuration, with no stated limit after removing the 3.5" drive cage. Compatible 2U redundant PSUs require V3.0 or later.
• Rack rails are sold separately. SilverStone specifies the RMS05-22 as the compatible slide rail model.

Does the RM51 come with rack rails?

No. SilverStone sells the matching RMS05-22 slide rails separately. The chassis has reserved mounting holes for them.

Can I use the RM51 as a desktop case at home?

Yes. SilverStone designs it for industrial rack use or high-end home systems, and it can stand vertically or lie horizontally.
