A customer reported two problems with their PC: a buzzing sound whenever they played games, and a mouse that lagged during use. On their own, each symptom could point to several possible causes. Together, they pointed toward the front I/O area and motherboard connection path.
The front I/O is the row of ports on the front of a PC case, including USB connections, a headphone jack, and a microphone input. It connects to the motherboard through internal cables. When there is an issue in this area, USB devices can behave erratically, and the front audio connection can pick up electrical interference from components under load.
The symptoms were traced to the front I/O area and the MSI B650M Gaming Wifi motherboard. The front USB connection was linked to the mouse lag, while the front audio path was linked to buzzing during gaming. Both the front I/O components and MSI B650M Gaming Wifi motherboard were replaced, then the system was tested again after the repair.

"Buzzing during gaming can often come from the front audio circuit picking up electrical interference from components under load. A quick test is to plug headphones into the rear audio jack. If the buzzing stops, the front I/O path is worth checking first."
