Onsite PC repair: fan replacement, Singapore
One PC fan was stuck on solid red RGB with no response to software control
Identified the faulty fan, removed it, and fitted a replacement. Confirmed RGB lighting was restored before leaving.
RGB lighting back to normal. Fan running at correct speed. Fixed in one visit.
This onsite PC repair in Singapore was called in by a customer whose case fan had locked onto a solid, unblinking red. No amount of software control brought it back. The light was on, the fan was spinning, but the RGB had stopped responding entirely.
The fan's internal RGB controller had failed. This is a hardware fault inside the fan unit itself, not a software or motherboard issue. When the controller dies, the fan defaults to a fixed colour with no way to override it from software. The only proper fix is replacing the fan. Resetting RGB software or reflashing firmware will not recover a fan with a failed controller.

One top fan was stuck red while the others synced correctly, showing the lighting problem before the onsite repair.
We removed the affected top fan to inspect the wiring and isolate the RGB fault during troubleshooting.
The fan was tested outside the case to confirm whether the RGB issue came from the fan itself.
After the repair, the lighting synced properly again, with all fans matching the build’s RGB colours as intended.
"A fan that locks onto one colour and ignores software is not a settings problem. The RGB controller inside the fan has failed. No amount of reinstalling drivers or resetting software will fix it. Swap the fan and the problem goes away."
- Mansa ComputersThe customer's PC went from a single stuck red fan to full RGB control restored, all within one onsite visit. Our technician made the trip out, diagnosed on the spot, replaced the fan, and confirmed the fix before leaving.
